Re: Simplicity vs John Deere Mower Deck
Im a certified Simplicity tech, worked at one of the highest volume Simp dealers in the south for 3 years. The rear roller bar is very tough, in 3 years we only replaced 2 bent bars and both were on mowers were people had the deck on, going through brush and got hung up on stumps, pipes, concrete blocks, stuff like that.
The rollers are cheap, easy to replace, and only require replacement about every 4-5 years depending on use. Not sure what Noise yall are talking about unless you drive on concrete alot? To drive on concrete you should use the deck lift and get the rollers off the ground anyways.
If you have a simplicity that was made after like 94ish, Baron, Regent, Broadmoor, COnquest, Prestige....and it takes you more than 1 minute to remove your deck, you were not given proper instruction, these are the easiest to remove decks in the industry.
Since briggs bought them, the Quality has stayed the same, superior, the design has improved many times over.
As for selling in stores...Sears needed a quality homeowner grade Z mower that was affordable, and Simplicity answered the call with the Axion, which replaced the Javelin.
