Re: deere 210?

The 200 series had the 200 (8hp, only made one year), 210 (10hp Kohler single), 212 (12 hp Kohler single), 214, (14 hp Kohler single), and the 216 (16 hp Kohler single)

They all have the same Peerless 4 speed manual transmission with variator drive, no hydrostatic tranny available (They came in the 300 series). You could get a manual, electric, or hydraulic deck lift, standard was the manual lift. The biggest deck I believe was a 46".

They are bulletproof, good basic machines, sort of a much upgraded 110/112. The same implements fit the 110/112 and 200 series.

'84 JD 318, 50" deck

'86 JD 214, 46" deck

I've always had a problem with kleptomania.
When it gets really bad, I take something for it.

Re: deere 210?

Thanks. I was told it needs a carb, not sure if its missing or if it needs a rebuild. Hope its easily repairable, my 8 year old daughter would love it!

Re: deere 210?

If the 210 has a carb on it, it might be either the original Kohler carb with an adjustable high speed idle jet, or it could be a Walbro replacement with a non-adjustable jet. The Kohler is the better carb and can be identified by that top high speed adjustment screw. Both carbs have rebuild kits still available through JDparts.com, or if you find you have no carb at all you can still purchase the complete Walbro (Kohler no longer available). If you do have the Kohler carb, inspect the throttle shaft and make sure it doesn't have an over abundance of play, because it will never idle correctly at all speeds. Post your results when you get started, and we can give you some tips on how to get that Kohler purring again.

Wink Re: deere 210?

You don't really want the 210! Get your daughter a nice new tractor to play with....I'll just come pick up that old klunker. Now then, what part of IL are you in?
