Help 200 Series (214) Snowblower and Cab Questions

So this CL thing is starting to get a little out of hand. I've got a line on a 37A snowthrower and cab for 200 series. Any ideas of relative value? Snowblower looks close to new, maybe 1-2 seasons. Cab is pretty tired; lots of surface rust and the back window and canvas are shot. Doors and windshield OK. Has wiper.

Also, any experience with blowing snow with a 214? Thinking about making mine the new snow machine if I can score a cab but I'm a little leary about dropping the 3 HP from 17 to 14 since the 180 is my current snow Deere.

Re: 200 Series (214) Snowblower and Cab Questions

The 37a snow thrower in perfect condition is worth around $250.00 and a crappy cab that needs a lot of work should go for around $100.00-$200.00.

These things are a dime-a-dozen around here. I'm not sure where you live and how available the 200 series and attachments are.

I have had 210.212,214 and a 216.used every one for snow duty and was quit impressed. A good 214 should suck-up a 180 and throw it across the street with a descent 37a snow thrower !! LOL LOL
Please keep us posted........Thanks-John

Re: 200 Series (214) Snowblower and Cab Questions

I don't know if it'll shoot a 180, but my 210 will shoot a newspaper 60-70 feet! I keep that one at my mom's for her long, wide gravel driveway. Now I have my own long wide gravel driveway so I'm looking for one for my 212. Your 214 should be more than capable of handling the job.

Re: 200 Series (214) Snowblower and Cab Questions

Thanks for the replies. I'm liking the idea of blowing snow with the 214 beacuse of the gear selection and the variator. Maybe a set of HDAPs to try and get away from the chains that mark up all the driveways I do. Can you still get parts for the old cabs? Will the snowthrower hook up to my hydraulics for hydraulic lift? That might be the coolest part.

Re: 200 Series (214) Snowblower and Cab Questions

I have a 185 and a 212. The 37a will out do the 185. And the weight advantage of the 212 really helps. I run with 120 lbs on the rear hitch. No wheel weights or fluid. I also run chains, but I have a gravel drive. When I pave the drive, I might try filling the tires and skipping the chains.

Can't help on the cab parts question.

STS25straight is right on for pricing.

Well at least I guessed about right. Trying to work a deal for a near-mint blower and tired cab for ~$400.
