Cool JD 425 3 pt hitch capabilities

I just bought a JD 425 AWS w/ a 3 pt hitch. My ?? is how much weight is realistic to put on that hitch. Can I pull a disc harrow? I dont see many category 0 discs out there. If anyone knows of a place that sells one, let me know. My deere dealer has one on the lot ( he claims was "made for this tractor) but wants almost 700$ for the disc. Ouch.

THanx.

brinly-hardy makes them. As for capabilities, quite a bit. My 318 lifts the front of my bolens 1250 without front weights.

Weight limit for lifting 450Lbs. Save your self some money and Buy a (A) frame 3point to sleeve Hitch adapter which is $99.00 avaliable directly from Brinly-Hardy Then you can use sleeve hitch implements on your 425. Cat 0 equipment has always been expensive That is why I was so happy when Deere came out with the LImited Cat 1 3point hitches Because the Cat 1 implements cost alot less than the cat 0 implements because there are so many Implement manufacturers who make cat 1 implements for tractors 25hp and under.

Cool Re: JD 425 3 pt hitch capabilities

I'll have to look into the adapter idea- I kind of like it. I checked w/ Brinly about the cat 0 3 pt harrow, plow and cultivator on their website and they indicated they haven't made them for a couple years except for direct sales to Deere. Maybe I'll find something used..... Craigslist here I come

Re: JD 425 3 pt hitch capabilities

I bought a JD 425 last fall, recently installed a Ruegg 3 pt (combo CAT 0 / CAT1). Defiantly keep an eye on Craigslist.

In the last two weeks I bought a Brinly spring tooth cultivator and a 12 plow just like the ones they make for Deere, $80 each. Lightly used, slight rust.

Some Cat 1 implements will just need the pins changed over to Cat 0 pins. TSC has a disk that will fit with the pins changed.
