GT235 Price Check

Hey!

I found a GT325 that comes with a 48" deck and 44" Piranha. Tractor is dirty and somewhat faded, it has been sitting outside for a while. Missing stickers on hood, headlight lenses are oxidized, and the red fender reflectors are missing. 48" deck has rust on pullies from sitting. It does start, no smoke, runs great and mows. The Piranha deck has rusty blades and some other surface rust around the bottom. Pullies are rusty. The seller wants 1500.00. Would this be a good price since both decks are included?

The Piranha deck definitely would need to be restored. Fade doesn't scare me too much, I have a buffer and lots of polish.

http://imgur.com/a/yPL7M I uploaded some pics to imgur.

Thanks!

It would be a stretch for myself to give $1,000.00 for that one. I've seen much nicer ones for $1,500.00.

Ok! I've had an uneasy feeling since I saw how rusted everything was. I think I'm gonna just pass as they're firm.

Re: GT235 Price Check

I just sold one for $2000 and it looked like it was built last week. EVERYTHING on it was new or like new. The deck was spotless as well as having no rust anywhere on the entire tractor including the underside. The plastic had to be replaced because the tractor had run into a post and as we all know, it radiated through all of the front pieces. Other than that it was as new. I would have offered your guy $500 at most. If you look at almost any JD that has the plastic front that needs replacing, figure on about $500 to replace MOST of it but not all. It has to be the one thing that I will no longer touch if the tractor needs all new plastic. There simply are no short cuts or discounts available on that junk.

Re: GT235 Price Check

That is a clean tractor - wish it was closer! I will take a pass on the one I found. It has too many issues and from what you guys have said they want too much. They are super firm, so no where to budge.

I will continue to look for one and hopefully find one soon! Where do you guys find them at? I have just been looking on Craigslist.

Thanks everyone!

Re: GT235 Price Check

I sold my GT235 with the 18hp Kawi with 207 hours, 48 inch deck, 30 inch mechanical rear tiller, front snow blade, and 15 dump cart for $2000.00 about a year ago. I was in a pinch and it had a cracked hood, but now I miss it. Tough machine and the rear tiller was amazing for gardening. Front blade had never been used. Purchased and sold mine on craigslist. Good luck teklein

Nice! Thanks a ton man. I am going to give them a call tonight and see what I can do. The one is at an auto shop - the 245 seems to be private owner. May have better luck haggling. Is 1750 a decent price for this?

Re: GT235 Price Check

No problem! $1750 isn't a bad deal with only 450 hours, but it's missing the front bumper and the pulley covers and you might be able to use that as a negotiation tactic?

This one is Charlotte is a little closer to you but the hood is cracked but has more equipment. Might want to check the hours though. https://charlotte.craigslist.org/grd/5999526230.html

That one is actually about 25mins from me! I was wondering how low he would go - not sure that is a decent price once I need all of the hood parts. It looks super clean though. I would not want nor need the vac thing - maybe he would separate or I could sell it.

EDIT: I now remember why I skipped over this one. It does not have foot controls and that is a must (from the wife, my Craftsman is fender control and I love it).

That is strange. I thought all the GT235's were foot controlled?... The one pictured obviously
isn't.
