Re: 345/48 Front Blade Manual Angle Kit Help
Well, I called my parts guy, and he convinced me that I had the right bracket, came home tonight, and it was much warmer in the garage, which apparantly helped, because low and behold, I attached the bracket, and parts 26 thru 28, and it appears to be OK. The plastic cover goes back into place, and the hood closed.
What remains is how part #22 attaches to the blade, I am assuming, you rotate rod #5 to pull up on lever to enable the blade to be angled, then you push, or pull rod #5 to position the blade to the desired angle. I do not see where link #22 connects to the blade.
I have found this site to be very helpful, my 345 is getting to a age to where it is requiring a bit more attention. It has a little over 1700 hours on it, when I purchased it, it had been a parts cart tow unit at the John Deere factory at Horicon, it had about 60 hours on it when I got it. I got a brand new 54" deck when I bought the 345, and later installed the mulching kit on the deck.
Over the past 12 years, the only repair that has been required, was when the drive belt from the engine to the hydro unit went bad, and cords from the belt wrapped around the input shaft of the hydro unit, and destroyed the seals. Handled the repairs myself, the 345 has never been back to the dealer since I bought it, I can't afford, or want to pay what they charge. I have upgraded the seat to a later seat, and have replaced the plastic front bumper due to my own stupidity a couple of times.
A couple of times, I was close to trading in on a 425 or 445, once I had a 425 AWS for a couple of weeks from the local Deere dealer, he convinced me to try it, I did not care for that it seemed to require more attention in maintaining a straight line when mowing. Close once on a 445, but it had the 60" deck, rather stay with a 54" deck. Now if I am going to trade up, most likely will go with a 475 or 485.
Again, thank you all for your help.
