Re: Tire kickers
About 1999 I had an early 90s Hyundai Excell I got for $1.00 with a bad tranny but a new clutch. I invested about $300 for tranny and ball joints into it. It had a sweet Mitusbishi engine in it. Listed it at average price of $1,100 and got a few calls. I lowered it to $900 and the phone started ringing a lot. One couple wanted me to let them take it to a shop for inspection without me going with. I said no. They pushed. I said no again. No sale. I drove into St.Paul to show it to some foreign guys and they offered me some ridiculous price of about $700 and I said no. Finally a local guy paid my $900 asking price and was happy to be able to buy it from me. Always make two bills of sale with names, addresses, drivers liscence numbers, time, signatures, vin # etc. One guy I sold several F150s to 5 years ago had sold a car 15 years ago without a bill of sale. The buyer hit and killed someone and ran from the scene to never be found. He, the seller had to go in front of a judge in court and lost his drivers liscence for 10 years.
